Loving People
in All Our Seasons

Wes & Myndi Funk moved to Alpine in 2006. We love spending time together, enjoying the opportunities of our community. We love snow sledding in the winter, planting gardens in the spring, food trucks in the summer, and even starting school in the fall. All these activities are made more special because of where we live, making memories that last generations.

How do I work?

Volunteer-oriented Service
Civic-minded collaboration

Utah runs on volunteers. It's one of the secrets of our success. I find joy in service, whether it's primary activity days or on the local school board. I actually enjoy digging into policy, as I've done over the last several years on issues of Main Street traffic and historical preservation. That's why I'm motivated to take a turn on the City Council. It's not just legislation and policy that matter, it's recruiting and inspiring the volunteers, setting up the tables and taking down the chairs, giving thanks along the way.

The best government is that which is closest to its people. I've actively participated in each precinct caucus night and subsequent delegate assignments at state and county conventions here in Utah for over 20 years. I've supported the candidates who best articulated and exemplified our conservative principles. I'm a life-long student of political history, especially heroes like John & Abigail Adams, Lincoln, Reagan. By studying their driving principles, we can see their impact on our peace and prosperity.

I'm a marketer at heart, I love finding the perfect word to inspire action. Like DemiSemiSeptCentennial. (Happy Birthday Alpine!)

After graduating from BYU in Marketing in the Karl G. Maeser era, I’ve built go-to-market strategies for large enterprises, international ad agencies, and small start-ups. I volunteer with church, youth, community, and school groups. They've taught me that genius is found all around when we have the patience and confidence to draw it out.

Principled Conservative Policies

As I've attended city council meetings, I have gained much appreciation for the expertise of our city staff. I respect the decorum of our current leaders as the grapple with residents' reasonable complaints. Especially, I applaud our citizens who take time to engage on issues, voice concerns in our community, and help find solutions to our common problems.
